Stella, Otis and Herrmann

A drunk man at Molly’s took a liking to a giant mug behind the bar, and Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) gave it to him in order to get him to leave. What seemed like creative problem solving blew up in her face, though, when she discovered that it was Christopher Herrmann’s (David Eigenberg) good luck charm.

But instead of coming clean, Stella just told Herrmann that “I hope we find it.” Superstitious to a fault, she was now convinced she’d cursed the bar and was determined to get the stein back at any cost. Maybe she was right, because Molly’s was promptly getting audited by the IRS. A clueless Herrmann continued to search for his stein, while Stella and Otis (Yuri Sardarov) kept looking for the man who had it.

Eventually, Stella tracked him down at his house but the drunk wanted a hundred dollars for it! She coughed up the cash, and hid it until she could put it back behind the bar. Unfortunately, she hid it behind Mouch’s couch cushion, and he broke the stein when he sat down.

Herrmann took the destruction surprisingly well, though, since the IRS letter had actually been misdelivered and now he was convinced the mug’s death was good luck.

Oh, and Stella finally caught on to the fact that Severide was still hanging around her, though not the why of it all. No one believed her when she told Emily Foster (Annie Ilonzeh) that she was cool with them just being friends.

Foster confronted Severide, who admitted that he couldn’t stop thinking about Stella and he missed her. Foster told him that he either needed to step up, or back up and let Stella move on. When Severide didn’t show up that night, Stella went out with Foster, but neither woman had no idea why he wasn’t there. Maybe they’ll find out in the next episode?
