Chicago Justice alum Monica Barbaro is reprising her recurring role in the Splitting Up Together season 2 finale; watch a clip from the series now.

Former Chicago Justice star Monica Barbaro has been busy in comedy since the show ended, and she’ll be making one more appearance as Lisa Apple during tonight’s Splitting Up Together season finale.

Lisa was originally introduced in the first season as a love interest for Martin (Oliver Hudson). The relationship didn’t last, but she was brought back to recur again this season—because Lisa found out she was pregnant with Martin’s baby!

Monica has made several guest appearances over the last few weeks, as Lisa has been adjusting to life as a single mother with some help from Martin’s ex-wife Lena (Jenna Fischer).

In Tuesday’s episode “Welcome Home,” Lisa contemplates moving back in with her parents when her financial problems continue to mount. The show has yet to be renewed for a third season, so it’ll be interesting to see if and how her storyline is wrapped up.

One Chicago fans know Monica Barbaro as Assistant State’s Attorney Anna Valdez on Chicago Justice, but a lot of what she’s done since NBC got rid of the series has been comedy. Aside from this role, she starred with Josh Groban in the Netflix comedy-drama The Good Cop. That series also ended after one season.

If you haven’t watched her in this show yet, it’s worth a look—she’s just as great at comedy as she is in drama, and the series has given her a very heartwarming story that’s gone in directions not seen in most sitcoms. You’ll see a side of her that you didn’t get to appreciate in the One Chicago franchise.
