MURDER FOR HIRE (Sundays at 7 p.m. on Oxygen): This true crime series is produced by Dick Wolf. It offers viewers a look at investigations that stopped people who attempted to hire hitmen to kill other people. CITY ON A HILL (premieres June 16; Sundays at 9 p.m. on Showtime): Former Chicago Fire guest star Sarah Shahi has a recurring role in this new drama series about Boston crime. Kevin Bacon is back on TV as a corrupt FBI agent who teams up with a District Attorney, portrayed by Aldis Hodge (Leverage). Hodge is the brother of Chicago Fire actor Edwin Hodge, though Edwin doesn’t appear in the show.
RUSSIAN DOLL (streaming now on Netflix): Chicago Fire alum Charlie Barnett, who was a series regular as firefighter Peter Mills, is a main cast member in this black comedy about a woman who relives the day of her death over and over again. Natasha Lyonne plays the title character, while Barnett is a mysterious man that she runs into over the course of her morbid journey.
TALES OF THE CITY (premieres June 7; streaming on Netflix): Charlie Barnett also stars in this new incarnation of the Armistead Maupin property. He portrays Ben Marshall, the boyfriend of Michael Tolliver (Murray Bartlett). The San Francisco-set relationship drama also features Laura Linney, Ellen Page, Paul Gross and Olympia Dukakis among its incredibly large ensemble.
