Chicago Med revealed wedding plans and heartbreak in Forever Hold Your Peace. Find out what happened in our Chicago Med season 4, episode 21 recap.

This week’s Chicago Med included some big reveals, trying to punch up One Chicago fans’ interest in the season finale. But did all of the major twists have the same effect?

Wednesday’s episode “Forever Hold Your Peace” involved Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) making a big decision involving his ex-wife Caroline (recurring guest star Paula Newsome), while Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) dealt with another man having to struggle with his wife’s illness.

In other news, Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) handled a case with a young man and his father, which Chicago Med used to have Connor reconsider his relationship with his dad—before going to one of the more common plot twists in One Chicago canon.

April and Choi

Chicago Med kicked off this episode with April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) struggling to deal with getting ready for work while dealing with Emily Choi (recurring guest star Arden Cho) and Emily’s baby Vincent, which did not go over well with Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee). The duo and the baby went to work, while Emily went to see Bernie. Or so April thought.

Emily wasn’t in Bernie’s recovery room later and wasn’t answering her phone. When April and Choi got home, all of Emily’s clothes were missing from the apartment. She had clearly left town again, and this time abandoned her child. April told Choi that she was ready to take care of baby Vincent, since they’d been doing it anyway.

“Anyone else would have bailed on this whole mess a long time ago, but you’re still here,” Choi admitted. “Because it’s you, Ethan,” April replied, and they finally kissed before ending up in bed together. The afterglow, though, was spoiled by a crying baby—and the return of Emily!

Saying she “kind of freaked out,” Emily said she’d been in St. Louis before she reconsidered. She wanted to take her baby now, but Choi and April refused to hand him over in the middle of the night. Emily agreed to “figure something out, with or without Bernie.” But do any Chicago Med fans actually believe that?
