When will FBI season 2 premiere on CBS? The newest Dick Wolf show was a hit when it started last fall, so fans are eagerly awaiting the second season. And CBS has already announced when it will be back.

Following a crack team of Federal Bureau of Investigation agents, the series stars Missy Peregrym (Rookie Blue), Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto (Law & Order), and Ebonee Noel (Law & Order: SVU) as they solve crimes in New York.

It was originally planned as a spinoff of the aforementioned Special Victims Unit, but after NBC passed on the project, Wolf and company retooled it as a standalone project for CBS. It’s now been so successful that it’s generated its own franchise.

CBS has confirmed that FBI season 2 will premiere Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. That’s the traditional first week of the fall TV season, and should mean that the show starts the day before Wolf’s One Chicago franchise gets back on the air.

The show will once again have long-running fan favorite NCIS as its lead-in, with the Los Angeles spinoff as its lead-out. Given the popularity of that franchise, ratings should continue to be strong if not get even better for Dick Wolf’s latest crime drama.

As for the spinoff, FBI: Most Wanted does not have a confirmed premiere date yet. It’s not on the CBS fall schedule, so presumably it won’t be on the air until midseason. But at least the original series is only three months away!
