When will The Code return with new episodes on CBS? Find out when the series starring Chicago Med’s Ato Essandoh will be back.

When will The Code return with new episodes? The drama starring Ato Essandoh has been on the sidelines since CBS pulled it off the air earlier this month, but fans will be glad to know that it will be back sooner rather than later.

Essandoh, who has recurred on Chicago Med since the second season as Dr. Isidore Latham, is a series regular on the military drama. He plays Major Trey Ferry, a veteran attorney working out of the Judge Advocate General (JAG) headquarters in Quantico, Virginia.

Trey is frequently partnered with Captain John “Abe” Abraham (played by former Blindspot actor Luke Mitchell). The two have become a great duo—so when will audiences get to see them and their colleagues back on TV?

CBS has updated their primetime schedule, and new episodes of The Code return Monday, July 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. That means the season has only been delayed about a month.

In the next new episode, called “Smoke-Pit,” Abe is teamed with Lieutenant Harper Li (Phillipa Soo from Hamilton) to investigate allegations of misconduct by a Marine recruiter. The remaining three episodes of the season are scheduled to air uninterrupted after that, with the season finale airing on July 22.

If you haven’t checked out Ato Essandoh’s new show, you absolutely should. He delivers a great performance in it, and it’s likely the most you’ll see of him right now—with Chicago Med having gotten rid of both its cardiothoracic surgeons this season, it’s hard to figure out how Dr. Latham would be returning either.
