One Chicago franchise staying off the air in July 2019

Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med fans will have to look elsewhere for their fix, as NBC is keeping One Chicago off its schedule in July 2019.

One Chicago fans won’t be happy, because they won’t be seeing any of their favorite shows on NBC this month.

The network’s primetime schedule doesn’t include any episodes of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire or Chicago PD during July.

Instead, Wednesdays will continue to be populated by a mix of summer shows and reruns of some of NBC’s unscripted series.

The 10 p.m. hour that normally belongs to Chicago PD will be occupied by supernatural drama The InBetween, while repeats of Ellen’s Game of Games and Songland can be seen at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.

While this is disappointing, it’s really not a surprise; this is what NBC did in June, too, and they also kept the One Chicago shows off the air for most of last summer, except for a quick refresher ahead of the season premieres in September.

And it’s not just an NBC decision; it’s pretty rare for any broadcast network to air reruns during the hiatus period anymore, because every network has a whole selection of midseason shows with all new episodes ready to go. Why take up space with repeats when you can air new things instead?

If you’re a Chicago fan (and since you’re here, that’s probably a safe bet), there are places you can turn to watch episodes this month. First and foremost, Hulu has all three shows, although it only has the most recent seasons. You can stream episodes for free, as long as you don’t mind seeing occasional commercials.

You can also check out NBC’s on demand offerings through your TV provider, or purchase episodes through most digital retailers.
