Why isn’t First Responders Live new tonight? The Dick Wolf-produced reality series isn’t showing a new episode this Wednesday, and Wolf fans might be wondering why it’s hitting pause.
As the title indicates, First Responders Live follows police, firefighters and paramedics across the country with cameras, documenting the work that they do to save lives and help people who are in need. Josh Elliott (Good Morning America) hosts, with a studio of specialized commentators.
The series premiered June 12 after much fanfare, but it’ll be going quiet this week for a common reason: a holiday.
With the 4th of July holiday on Thursday, many TV shows are skipping this week altogether, and that includes Wolf’s newest project. The next new episode is scheduled for July 10 in the show’s normal 9 p.m. time slot.

So is First Responders Live on tonight? That’s where things get interesting. Though they’re not serving up a new episode, FOX is keeping the show on the schedule. Tonight will be a repeat of the series premiere, while on Friday they’ll also provide a rerun of the third episode.
The network no doubt wants to keep growing the audience for the series, which has struggled to find viewers amid claims that it’s not actually live. The most recent episode, airing on June 26, was watched live by just 1.88 million people when it was seen opposite one of the Democratic debates and the season finale of The Amazing Race.
