Our prognosis

If you’re a Stella Kidd fan, you should look forward to Chicago Fire‘s next season, because there will be plenty of her in it. Based on what we saw this season, Stella is going to be a major part of the show now and in the future.

That should be great for her in one big respect: stability for her relationship. Stellaride fans have watched them break up and get back together more than once, including when she got pushed aside in favor of Anna Turner (Charlotte Sullivan). The writers have done so much back and forth with these two, and there’s no reason for that anymore now that their ship is part of the core of the show.

With the number of tough situations she conquered in season 6, Stella looks pretty infalliable in a lot of ways right now. And now that she’s back together with Kelly, her major hurdle is out of the way, too. So what new challenge will the writers put in front of her? They certainly can’t tread the same ground that they’ve been going over for three seasons now.

Hopefully they’ll also diversify her relationships. We see a lot of her with Severide, and then her primary friendships are with the other female characters. But we don’t see her friendships with characters like Casey, or scenes with Boden, etc. There are plenty of other relationships that are still kind of unexplored with her, and since her romantic troubles are over, why not work on those?
