What happened

Natalie Manning had a season of going from one dramatic moment to another. While she started trying to plan her wedding to Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss), the two butted heads on that initially, then Natalie spent the first part of the season being suspicious about Will’s new job working for the FBI.

At midseason, she had her wedding day spoiled by Will’s kidnapping and knowledge that he was being placed in witness protection—but it was in the second half of Chicago Med season 4 that things started to go from just dramatic to kind of creepy and off-putting.

Natalie pressured Will to open up to her about his undercover experience, and when he wasn’t ready to tell her everything (or let go of the gun he’d told her that he had turned in), she dumped him. Then after treating a woman who died in childbirth, it didn’t take Natalie long to be flirting with the patient’s husband!

And despite how uncomfortable that was, and unprofessional, Natalie and Phillip Davis (recurring guest star Ian Harding) were soon falling all over each other. Phillip was even ready to propose to Natalie—but then she was injured when one of Ray Burke’s sons crashed into Will’s car, and the season ended with her bloody and unconscious in Will’s arms.
