The Right Stuff trailer goes behind the scenes of the Nat Geo series, which features Chicago Fire alum Eloise Mumford in a starring role.

Nat Geo has released The Right Stuff trailer, showing the first footage from the upcoming series that stars Chicago Fire actress Eloise Mumford.

At the network’s recent Television Critics Association day, Nat Geo dropped the minute and a half long video piece, which isn’t like a standard trailer. Instead, it shows footage from on the set, with several of the actors in uniform and getting advice from experts.

One Chicago fans will recognize Eloise Mumford, who portrayed Hope Jacquinot during Chicago Fire season 6, in the later part of the video.

She stars in the upcoming series as Trudy Cooper, the wife of NASA astronaut Gordon Cooper, who is portrayed by Colin O’Donaghue (Once Upon A Time). The role was originally played by Game of Thrones actor Joe Dempsie, but Dempsie exited the series earlier this month due to visa issues.

Other cast members include Patrick J. Adams (Suits), Jake McDorman (Murphy Brown, Limitless), and TV veteran Patrick Fischler.

The program is based on the book of the same name, which was also the basis for an award-winning film in 1983. Now more than 30 years later, audiences are getting a new look at the true story of the Mercury Seven astronauts, this time told from a TV perspective—which means a longer project and more opportunities to dig into the characters.

While this trailer doesn’t show a lot of the series itself, choosing to focus on the set footage, a few brief clips are visible toward the end. It looks like this could be similar to Mars, which starred Jeff Hephner of Chicago Fire and Chicago Med fame, in that Nat Geo is mixing scripted material with commentary from experts.
