What will Chicago Fire season 8 have in store for Sylvie Brett? Look ahead as we preview Chicago Fire’s new season for Kara Killmer’s character.

Before Chicago Fire begins season 8 on Sept. 25, we’re previewing the season for each main character. Where did they leave off last season, what ought to happen with them in the new season, and what might happen next?

In this article, we are profiling Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer).

Brett has been with Ambulance 61 since Chicago Fire season 3, which means she’ll be going into her fifth year as a paramedic at Firehouse 51. And while in past seasons she always had a bubbly personality, season 7 dealt her a harsh bit of reality with the loss of her work partner and friend, Gabby Dawson (Monica Raymund).

In addition to her losses, Brett did have a couple gains in her life as well. She gained a new partner on Ambulance 61 in Emily Foster (Annie Ilonzeh) as well as a new relationship with Chaplain Kyle Sheffield (Teddy Sears), which ended with the double whammy of Kyle leaving Chicago, but not before he asked Sylvie to marry him and she accepted!

But things haven’t always worked out for Brett in the way she wants—or needs—them to. Will Chicago Fire season 8 be any better for her personal or professional life?
