In this article, we’re profiling April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta).
Where we left off
April Sexton truly rose to prominence in Chicago Med season 4, where she had a tremendous part of the show as her relationship with Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) and her trying to help Choi’s sister Emily (recurring guest star Arden Cho) were both featured.
Despite dumping Choi between seasons because of his decision to support his sister, April wound up accepting Emily’s apology in the season 4 premiere. She was at times even more supportive of Emily than Choi was, going so far as to let Emily and her baby live in her apartment, and not telling Choi about it.
Since they spent so much time helping Emily, it was pretty clear to One Chicago viewers that Choi and April would end up getting back together. It wasn’t an easy road; she raced into a locked down ED to save his life, then she got stuck under a car, and then Choi accused April of potentially killing a patient who turned out to be a sex offender.
But the duo worked it out, because they hooked back up and then in the season finale, April had a huge revelation to drop: she might be pregnant again, this time with Ethan’s baby!
