Another new firefighter is coming to Chicago Fire this week, according to NBC‘s official description of the episode and the teaser that they’ve released for it.

Wednesday’s installment “A Real Shot in the Arm” features the first appearance of Blake Gallo, the new recurring character played by Alberto Rosende (Shadowhunters). Gallo catches the attention of Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer), and presumably he’s going to be trained to take the place that was left empty when Otis (Yuri Sardarov) died.

What is it about this guy that will make Casey change his mind? After all, he was seen in the first episode having a hard time finding someone qualified to fill in.

The characters will also have to deal with Otis’s absence in their personal lives, too. Not only has Molly’s North shut down without him, but what happens to the original bar now that it’s down a partner? It certainly sounds like aftereffects are going to continue into this week, as they should after the loss of such a beloved character.

"Lt. Casey struggles to get Chief Boden to sign off on an energetic new recruit. Against her better judgment, Foster extends an olive branch to her irritating new medic. Otis inspires Herrmann to seek new partners at Molly’s. Brett realizes life in Fowlerton will take some getting used to."
