Chicago Fire season 8, episode 4 synopsis and promo: Infection, Part 1
What’s happening in this week’s Chicago Fire episode? Find out about Infection, Part 1 with the Chicago Fire season 8, episode 4 synopsis and teaser.
Chicago Fire is taking over the leadoff spot for this week’s One Chicago crossover, and NBC has released an official description and promo for the first chapter of the big event.
The three-show, three-hour storyline is called “Infection,” and because of that Chicago Fire is moving into the 8 p.m. slot normally occupied by Chicago Med, just like what happened during last year’s crossover.
In part one, Firehouse 51’s plans for a football tailgate are halted abruptly when they discover a case of flesh-eating bacteria—and then realize it’s not an isolated incident. The firefighters and paramedics must work together with all of their colleagues to uncover the full extent of the threat, and of course, there’s a malicious reason behind it. But for that, you’ll have to stay tuned for the other two episodes!
This is later in the season than last year’s event (which was episode two), but it’s different from the usual “here’s a massive fire, now go figure it out” story. We just wouldn’t recommend eating while watching the body-destroying bacteria either.
Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:
"In the first part of a three-show crossover event, a rare but deadly bacteria takes its toll on numerous victims around the city, leaving Chicago’s finest first responders to work together alongside the CDC to resolve the dangerous situation. Following a fire at a local university that ties into the outbreak, Severide has suspicions that something bigger is happening."
And here’s the One Chicago crossover trailer that has been teasing all three episodes:
