What’s happening in this week’s Chicago Fire episode? Find out about Buckle Up with the Chicago Fire season 8, episode 5 synopsis and teaser.

The next Chicago Fire will get Firehouse 51 back to more ordinary calls, according to NBC‘s official description of the episode and the promo they’ve released for it.

Wednesday’s episode is called “Buckle Up,” so it won’t surprise fans that the main storyline starts with two car accidents. They first appear to be different, but the more that the crew investigates, it looks like they might not be that different after all. So is there something malicious at work or is this just a tragic coincidence? We’ve certainly seen weird car accidents more than once on this show.

In other news, the show pays off the subplot from two weeks ago, when Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) was selected for a prestigious conference. This episode will actually show her going to the conference, which means it will probably be at least partially awkward. Will she fit in there? And more importantly for One Chicago viewers, why is this so important? The show made this sound like a big deal, and now we’ll get to see if it actually is.

Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:

"Kidd must prove herself at the National Firefighter Leadership Conference while the rest of Firehouse 51 is called to two eerily similar car wrecks. Mouch tries to keep everyone in the firehouse informed by starting a newsletter, but things quickly get out of hand. Cruz deals with a heartbreak."

And here’s the promotional video that’s been airing in advance of the episode (which actually covers all three One Chicago shows; there’s no individual promo):
