Chicago PD will reveal big news for Kim Burgess and Jay Halstead in the next two Chicago PD season 7 episodes this fall. SPOILER ALERT!

Fans of Chicago PD won’t want to miss the next two episodes, which feature huge reveals for two of the show’s main characters.

SPOILER ALERT: The remainder of this article contains spoilers from this week’s Chicago PD promo and NBC’s official descriptions of episodes. Don’t read if you don’t want spoilers!

In next Wednesday’s episode, “No Regrets,” Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) will find out that she’s pregnant! The promo for the episode, which aired last night, clearly reveals Burgess’s status to the audience.

Presumably, the father is Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), with whom Burgess hooked back up at the end of the “Infection” crossover a few weeks ago. In the promo, which you can watch below, Kim is told that she’s four weeks pregnant so the timeline generally matches up.

This will be exciting news for many Burzek fans, who will be over the moon that not only is their favorite couple back together, but they’re expecting a baby. Don’t get too excited yet, though, as it would be really hard to imagine Chicago PD making room for a child. Even Antonio Dawson’s (Jon Seda) grown kids didn’t get a lot of screen time unless they were being abducted.

The pregnancy isn’t a total surprise, as Squerciati has been teasing a big development for Burgess in several interviews, and some fans already correctly guessed she was pregnant. But it’s good to have the concrete confirmation—and important to see how the writers will handle this. Will there be another miscarriage, like we saw on Chicago Med? Or are the producers finally ready to commit to something permanent with Burzek?

But Burgess isn’t the only one dropping a bombshell. Keep reading to see what’s coming up for Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer).

Chicago PD season 7 has been quiet for Halstead, but that’s going to change in two weeks. NBC has released the description of the midseason finale, “Absolution,” and it’s a Halstead-centric hour that reveals Jay has been in a “secret relationship.”

Keep in mind that network descriptions of episodes can often be vague, so it’s total speculation as to what that means, but if you’re a Halstead fan or an Upstead shipper, this doesn’t sound great. After all, the last time Jay got into a relationship it was with drug dealer Camila (Anabelle Acosta) in season 5—and that wasn’t just bad for him, it was rough for the show.

But it’s been a season and a half since then, so presumably the writers thought that was enough time for Jay to stop being single. How will Upton react to the news that her partner’s been keeping a secret from her? Or, for that matter, to the news her ex is having a baby with his former fiancee? And can Halstead stay out of trouble this time?

Chicago PD will be bringing a lot of relationship drama in its next two episodes. Let us know what you think of these new spoilers in the comments.
