Chicago Med actor Brennan Brown stars in Midway movie
Chicago Med alum Brennan Brown is part of Midway, the star-studded World War II film heading to theaters today. Learn more and watch the trailer.
If you’re headed to movie theaters this weekend to see Midway, you’ll find a connection between the new World War II movie and Chicago Med.
Brennan Brown, who recurs on Chicago Med as neurologist Dr. Sam Abrams, has a supporting role in Roland Emmerich’s film about the Battle of Midway. He plays Commander Joseph Roquefort, a Naval cryptanalyst whose work decoding Japanese radio traffic proved influential in the battle and for the war overall.
The picture has a star-studded ensemble, including Patrick Wilson (Aquaman), Luke Evans (the Fast & Furious franchise), Aaron Eckhart (London Has Fallen), Darren Criss (American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace) and Mandy Moore (This Is Us).
Just because of the sheer number of actors in the principal cast, it’s hard to estimate just how much screen time Brennan Brown has in the movie. But the film is also more than two hours long so hopefully One Chicago fans will get to see at least a decent amount of him, especially since the man he’s playing helped find the evidence that pointed toward the attack on Midway.

It will definitely be a different role for him than portraying Abrams, who appeared again in this week’s episode of Med diagnosing a car accident victim in his usually blunt manner. He’s been one of the more thorny characters at the hospital, but also sometimes the most entertaining with how his deadpan approach plays off the other characters.
