The next Law & Order: SVU episode is a little mind-bending, according to NBC‘s official description of the episode and the promo that they’ve released for it.

Thursday’s installment has another wordy title, “We Dream of Machine Elves.” And if it sounds weird, well, drugs are involved. The Special Victims Unit gets on the case when several tourists visiting New York City are sexually assaulted—but they were drugged beforehand and so they struggle to recall any details that may help find the perpetrator. That’s going to make it very hard to build a case, but the squad isn’t going to let that dissuade them.

As usual, Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) works directly with the victims, using her empathy and years of experience to help them deal with what’s happened and hopefully be able to assist in putting the villain away. This is also a big episode for Detective Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish), who works undercover as a tourist to try and lure the suspect out so the team can catch him. So which aspect will ultimately break the case? And will they be able to get a conviction?
