Crockett and April

Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) sees Noah Sexton (recurring guest star Roland Buck III) at the hospital with Jacinta, the would-be gang member from a few episodes ago, and confronts him about it. Noah tells Crockett everything, and Crockett does not approve, but agrees to keep his mouth shut.

He also tries to apologize to April for making a move on her at the party, but she tells him to forget it. And she does forget it when Noah is hauled into the ED beaten up; it’s not hard to guess who did it. Crockett is there to help, along with Choi and even Dr. James Lanik (recurring guest star Nate Santana). But even then, Crockett plays dumb as to the reason why Noah has been attacked.

Goodwin decides Lanik is in charge of Noah’s case, and he immediately starts making calls that Crockett doesn’t agree with. But Lanik is the boss, and so he has the final say.

Crockett is forced to tell the truth when Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) from Chicago PD shows up to start investigating. April is understandably upset at not knowing, but Crockett reminds her that her brother is an adult who makes his own decisions.

He then continues to argue with Lanik about surgery, and when Lanik doesn’t listen, bursts into the lab himself. As if on cue, Noah crashes so finally, they agree to take him to an operating room where surgery is slightly more complicated due to the delay.

But Noah pulls through, and both Choi and April are there when he comes to, along with a guilty-looking Crockett. April chases after Crockett to thank him for saving Noah’s life, while Choi looks at them both and has that “what” look on his face. Yes, the show is really going for a Chexton love triangle, or at least a perceived one.
