Chicago Med’s Torrey DeVitto in Hallmark movie Write Before Christmas

When Jessica sends Christmas cards to five people who’ve changed her life, each is inspired themselves. But Jessica’s music teacher never receives hercard. Instead, her son Luke arrives with a vintage cello, explaining his mom is abroad and wanted Jessica to have her beloved instrument. Instantly hitting it off, Luke and Jessica have a wonderful day, ending when Luke gives Jessica a photo of the moon, quoting from It’s a Wonderful Life, “You want the moon? Just say the word, and I'll throw a lasso around it.” But love isn’t lassoed just yet. Fate must step in once again. Chicago Med star Torrey DeVitto is front and center in the latest Hallmark movie Write Before Christmas. Learn more and watch the trailer here.

Manstead may be on the rocks, but Torrey DeVitto will be enjoying a drama-free romance as she stars in this weekend’s new Hallmark film Write Before Christmas.

Torrey, who stars as Dr. Natalie Manning on Chicago Med, is the lead actress in the latest Hallmark Christmas romance. Her character Jessica sends five holiday cards to people who have positively affected her life, as a way of getting her mind off a recent break-up.

One of those cards is intended for her cello teacher, but finds its way to her son (played by Chad Michael Murray, One Tree Hill and Agent Carter). Luke meets Jessica and the two go on a six-hour first date—but in true Hallmark fashion, there are some pitfalls before they can find their way back to each other.

It may be a nice alternative for Manstead fans, since Natalie is currently going through another period of romantic drama after dumping faux-fiance Phillip Davis (Ian Harding) and being angry at ex-fiance Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss).

Write Before Christmas will be much less dramatic than that and every Hallmark movie always has a happy ending.

This is Torrey’s second Hallmark Christmas movie after Best Christmas Party Ever. It’s also the second week in a row that a Chicago Med alum has featured in a Hallmark movie, as Patti Murin was in last week’s Holiday for Heroes.
