Chicago Med and Chicago Fire fan favorite Jeff Hephner debuts on the FOX comedy-drama Almost Family tonight in what will be a recurring role.

One Chicago fans will want to set their DVR’s for Almost Family, as Jeff Hephner guest stars tonight on the freshman FOX series.

Almost Family focuses on a woman who discovers she has two new half-siblings because her father conceived upwards of a hundred children while working as a fertility doctor. It’s based on the Australian series Sisters.

In tonight’s episode “Risky AF,” Jeff plays Nick Cameron, who works at the gym where Roxy Doyle (Emily Osment) used to train when she was a professional gymnast. When Roxy returns, it opens up old wounds.

This is likely picking up from a plot point in the previous episode, where Roxy was interested in officially becoming a coach.

Specifics about Jeff’s character are being kept under wraps, but FOX’s official descriptions reveal that he’ll appear in at least the next three Almost Family episodes.

That’s fantastic news for One Chicago viewers, who haven’t seen him in the NBC universe since his character Jeff Clarke was written out in the second season of Chicago Med. Clarke headed to Hawaii for his medical residency, and hasn’t been mentioned since.

Jeff Hephner, on the other hand, had a leading role in the film An Acceptable Loss (written and directed by Chicago Fire‘s Joe Chappelle) and starred in the second season of NatGeo’s Mars, to name but two.

The only bad news is that Almost Family airs at 9 p.m. ET this Wednesday, Nov. 20—so it’s on directly opposite the Chicago Fire midseason finale. Make sure you record it and check in after the finale, because we all need more Jeff Hephner on our TV.

If you haven’t watched the show yet, FOX hasn’t released a promo specifically for this Almost Family episode, but here’s a trailer for the whole series that will catch you up with its characters and the general premise.
