Dick Wolf’s true crime series Criminal Confessions returns for season 3
Criminal Confessions season 3 premieres Saturday as the Dick Wolf-produced true crime series tackles the Chris Watts murder case.
Another of Dick Wolf‘s reality series is returning to the airwaves. Tonight is the premiere of Criminal Confessions season 3 on NBC‘s sister network Oxygen.
As the title indicates, the show focuses on instances where detectives or other investigators closed their case by getting a confession from their prime suspect. It aims to take viewers in the interrogation room to see and hear how the confession happened.
Saturday’s premiere features the case of Chris Watts, the Colorado man who confessed to the murders of his wife Shanann and her two daughters.
The lead investigators from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation will tell viewers how they were able to determine Watts was the suspect and ultimately, how they got him to admit to killing his own family.
Criminal Confessions isn’t an easy show to watch, but it fits right into the Dick Wolf brand. Any fans of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit who have enjoyed watching Olivia Benson square off with bad guys in the interrogation room will like this series.
And it makes a good companion with Murder For Hire, the other true crime show produced by Wolf that also airs on Oxygen. That show is winding down its current season on Sundays, so audiences can make a weekend of compelling true crime stories curated by Wolf Entertainment. They’re as surprising and engaging as any of Wolf’s scripted series.
