One Chicago fans don’t need to worry: NBC’s recent advertisements for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics don’t mean that the franchise is going to get bumped.

If you’ve been watching NBC recently, you’ve seen their commercials promoting their coverage of the upcoming 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

And if you’re a One Chicago fan, you might be having flashbacks to a few seasons ago, where the Olympics took all three Chicago series off the air for an extended period of time, causing the whole fan base to freak out.

But there’s no need to worry—that won’t be happening this time around.

Tokyo 2020 is the Summer Olympics, meaning that they take place during the summer. The dates are set from July 24 to Aug. 9, so they’ll completely miss the end of the 2019-2020 TV season.

The One Chicago shows will air their season finales in late May (usually just before Memorial Day), and presuming that NBC renews them, won’t return until mid-to-late September.

That’s unbelievably good news for fans. Between the previous Olympics and NBC also hosting the NFL with Thursday Night Football, things were a scheduling nightmare in 2017.

Shows got pulled off the air, particularly Chicago Fire, which took a more than two-month break at one point and a month-long break after that.

And it wasn’t just the getting preempted that turned out to be a pain; the extended lapses made it harder to keep up with the stories and derailed a lot of each show’s momentum. Plus, writers had to plan around the breaks, changing how they approached the scripts in the first place!

So everyone will be happy not to have to go through that again.

NBC Sports will be covering Team USA, but after the season ends and well before the next season is due to start. Viewers can cheer for their favorite athletes without worrying about what’s going to happen for their favorite shows.

As for the current winter break, the entire franchise will be back with new episodes in less than a month, on Wednesday, Jan. 8 starting at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
