Chicago PD season 7, episode 11 preview: 43rd and Normal

What should fans look for in this week’s episode of Chicago PD? Get ready for “43rd and Normal” with our Chicago PD season 7, episode 11 preview.
Tonight’s episode of Chicago PD puts the focus on Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) as they navigate their work life while dealing with Kim’s pregnancy.
While Burzek tries to balance their personal and professional lives, Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) is still trying to figure out what happened to his younger brother, Jordan. Remember that the end of last week’s episode saw him try to contact Jordan with no response.
NBC’s official episode description reads: “Ruzek and Burgess’ secret begins to have severe implications for their police work; a series of deadly acts of vandalism causes tensions to run high in the insular neighborhood of Canaryville; Atwater tries to reach out to his brother.”
Now, Kim and Adam’s relationship has been rocky, yes; but even their breakup didn’t cause this much drama at work. If you throw a baby into the mix though, that would change things, as both the episode description and promotional photos lean towards a dispute between the former flames.
Kevin has to sift through the mess of his personal and professional worlds, as they’ve bled into each other due to his brother’s involvement in a homicide. Though we know Jordan didn’t kill anybody; it begs the question: why did he run? And where is he that he can’t reach out to his brother? We’ve always seen Kevin be very protective over his siblings, and that hasn’t changed – but maybe Jordan has.
With all of the non-work issues floating about, it’s easy to forget that Intelligence does have a case to solve this week as well. This episode sees them attempt to figure out who is behind a string of vandalisms in Canaryville.
Maybe Adam can be of assistance in this case, especially since he grew up in the area. Course, the people of Canaryville tend to stick together, and aren’t big fans of outsiders, so the 21st may have to be creative in getting them to talk. That shouldn’t be too hard, as even Hank Voight’s (Jason Beghe) most outrageous methods have yielded great results in the past.
We’ll have to see what happens when “43rd and Normal” airs tonight on NBC.
