Chicago Med season 5, episode 13 synopsis and promo: Pain Is for the Living

The next episode of Chicago Med brings another tough case into the ER, and it will take Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee), Nurse April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta), and psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) to uncover what’s really going on.
From the looks of the synopsis and promo that NBC has released, “Pain Is for the Living” will show just how far these medical professionals are willing to go to get their patient help.
The promotional trailer shows a young boy being taken into the hospital by a mother, who’s wailing at the doctors to do whatever they can to help him. Viewers then see another young boy named Jamie, who cries to April, saying he “didn’t mean to hurt [his] little brother.”
When Dr. Charles tries to talk to Jamie, he lashes out. Dr. Choi rushes to his aid and is shown visibly worried that Jamie has such a temper, and could potentially kill his younger brother because of it.
The last scene from the trailer shows Dr. Charles at a loss for words. Could they have finally met their toughest patient yet? And if so, what can they do that would help both Jamie, and the rest of his family feel safe again?
Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:
"Two brothers in critical condition are rushed into the hospital by their parents, leaving Dr. Choi, April and Dr. Charles to piece together what actually transpired; Dr. Manning becomes suspicious of a new mother entering the E.D."
