NBC has released the official photos for season 7, episode 13 of Chicago PD, and it looks like Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) will be at the center of an investigation, as she’s the one who takes the distress call at a 911 operation center.
The February 5 episode, “I Was Here,” has Burgess on call center detail due to her pregnancy, while the rest of her team is anxious to help when her mystery caller leads them to investigate a sex trafficking ring.
From the looks of the promotional photos below, Sergeants Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) are called in to work the case alongside Kim. This will be the first case Kim has worked outside of Intelligence since officially moving upstairs in season 4. It will also be the first time since then that she’s donned her old patrol uniform.
She doesn’t stay in her dress blues for long, as she’s seen in action at the crime scene, along with the presumed victim at the hospital. We know Kim’s always been one to want justice served, especially when it comes to women who are attacked, given the impact her sister’s assault had back in season 5.
The question this episode poses is: will her fight for justice impede her pregnancy? And what would that mean for her relationship with former fiancé Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger)?
A few episodes ago, the two did manage to get back on solid ground, but would it last if something were to happen to Kim, or their baby? It’s hard to say, and it will definitely be a deciding factor for Kim when it comes to staying put or seeking answers in this case.
