What should fans look for in this week’s episode of Chicago PD? Get ready for Burden of Truth with our Chicago PD season 7, episode 15 preview.
Tonight’s episode of Chicago PD wrap sup the crossover event that begins in the prior hour of Chicago Fire. “Burden of Truth” will see how Sergeant Hank Voight’s (Jason Beghe) Intelligence Unit connects the dots between an opioid crisis and Sean Roman’s (special guest star Brian Geraghty) missing sister.
The episode sees Sean’s former partner—both on and off the job—Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) try to assist with the investigation as well. Apparently, they are on the hunt for a drug dealer whose bad dope caused many overdoses in the Windy City.
Things never quite go according to plan in the One Chicago universe though, and as such, said dealer is found dead. With a homicide case on their hands now, will Intelligence be able to find the killer?
While everyone at the 21st District is sure to work tirelessly on the case, given the personal connection to Roman’s sister, there’s one person who won’t be able to do much—Roman himself, since he’s no longer a Chicago cop.

Perhaps Burgess will keep him in line, as the two worked very well together when they were on patrol back in Chicago PD seasons 2 and 3. Sergeant Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) was always good at giving Roman orders, so maybe that superior/subordinate relationship will still be intact metaphorically, if not literally.

Let’s just hope tensions don’t run too high in “Burden of Truth,” especially when it comes to Roman’s rocky relationship with Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger). The two never really saw eye-to-eye while working under Voight, and things only got worse when Adam thought Kim jumped into Sean’s arms way too fast.
Ruzek has shown a great deal of maturity in Chicago PD season 7. He’s been there for Kim when she needed him most, and has been dealing with the miscarriage gracefully by giving her space. Maybe he will keep his distance from Roman this time around, or at least deal with him a little better.
He may not have time to, though, as promotional photos for this episode show Ruzek working with members of Firehouse 51 on the case. Will that continue through into the second half of the crossover and keep him too busy for personal problems?
