Chicago PD season 7, episode 16 synopsis and promo: Intimate Violence
What’s happening in this week’s Chicago PD episode? Find out about Intimate Violence with the Chicago PD season 7, episode 16 synopsis and teaser.
The next Chicago PD episode will give plenty of screen time to both Halstead and Upton, per NBC‘s official description of the episode and the promo that they’ve released for this week.
The main plot of Wednesday’s installment “Intimate Violence” will strike a nerve with Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos), when it becomes clear that domestic violence is involved. Upton revealed last season that she had violence in her childhood, so this sounds like it’s going to feel at least a little bit personal for her. But she won’t be the only one with issues; her partner has something else to deal with, too.
Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) will come into conflict with the boss this week, which is never good, since it’s Hank Voight’s (Jason Beghe) way or the highway in Intelligence. Voight even said explicitly that to Halstead the last time they got into an argument. So what will set the two of them on a collision course this time? And will it be a real fight, or another instance of somebody ultimately backing down once Voight puts any pressure on them?

This episode could make things incredibly awkward around the 21st District, or not, depending on how these stories get resolved.
Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:
"An armed robbery case quickly turns into a homicide investigation. When one suspect’s background suggests domestic violence, Upton is forced to reckon with her childhood. Voight and Halstead butt heads over Halstead’s righteous instinct."
