Who the heck is Gary?

Speaking of cranky, Darren Ritter (Daniel Kyri) and Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende) are getting annoyed about Boden’s diet and the stuff Donna dropped off for it. They don’t know what to do with anything. Stella tries to talk to Boden, who rants more in her direction before she says she has one thing that might be able to help him.

And Casey comes to see Brett, admitting that he’s also skeptical about his decision to call off Severide, now that he knows who the driver was. Brett reassures him that he made the right decision, and says he’s also a good person for beating himself up for it afterwards.

She also shares her baby photos with him; she got them from Julie. They’re getting closer, yet Brett admits she doesn’t want to get too close, for fear that mom will disappear again once she has her new baby. Now it’s Casey’s turn to reassure Brett.

Yet Casey steps out into the hallway and finds Lisa Burke alive. What in blazes? That’s because she insists that her boyfriend Gary was driving the car and she doesn’t know where he is. Casey has to admit that they didn’t even look for Gary, and Lisa takes that surprisingly well. “How big an area will they search?” she asks. “And what happens if they don’t find him? Do they still declare him dead?”

Something’s hinky here, and Casey explains as such to Severide. Then Chicago Fire cuts to Herrmann telling Mouch that he’s going to help Lily get the rent cost down on the bakery location she’s been eyeing up, and Stella admitting to Gallo and Ritter that she’s agreed to become Boden’s new diet buddy. “You should be thanking me,” she says, but they don’t.

After all that, Casey talks to the police officer who was on the accident scene, who informs him that this is now a murder investigation. Lisa then shows up the next morning to accuse Casey of saying something to the cops, but once she calms down, she admits that Gary also took all her money. He urges her to go to the police.

Chicago Fire then shows us Herrmann trying to work his magic, but apparently there were five other offers on Lily’s beloved building. So later at Molly’s, Herrmann tells Mouch that he offered to invest in Lily’s business as a way of helping out. And Casey tells Stella about Gary, which gives fans a chance to see that Stella has now become as cranky as Boden. And why is Julie in the bar?!

But Brett introduces her to Casey, which also means both of them are there when Julie starts experiencing pain. Brett insists that they’re all going to the hospital. Everything is fine, though, and Brett gets to feel her half-sibling kick. And to be mistaken for Casey’s girlfriend. “We’re just friends,” she tells Julie, who replies, “If you say so.”
