Chicago Med had another hostage situation in Who Should Be The Judge. Find out what happened in our Chicago Med season 5, episode 16 recap.

This week’s Chicago Med might have given fans a touch of deja vu, since it featured one more hostage crisis, and one more life-threatening situation for Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto).

Wednesday’s episode “Who Should Be The Judge” saw Natalie and Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) with their lives on the line after a convicted murderer crossed their path. And he probably looked familiar to anyone who’s watched enough TV.

Meanwhile, April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) learned some information that she really didn’t want to about an old friend.

Maggie and Goodwin

Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett) meets with her doctor about getting her latest lab results. Luckily she has her boyfriend Ben (recurring guest star Charles Malik Whitfield) there with her this time. He says he’s not worried about the results, but he’ll come back to be there when she gets them. Maggie insists that he not cancel a prior bowling obligation for her, and that she’ll come to see him afterward instead.

Later, Maggie seems to be the only one who notices either Natalie or Crockett is gone, and it’s almost halfway through the episode before she tracks Natalie’s phone and realizes that her colleagues are gone. She brings this information to Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) and Chicago PD‘s own Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) shows up to help, and also to tell Goodwin to keep the whole thing quiet.

Eventually, Ben returns to be there for Maggie. And although Maggie has a brief fight with him over spending too much time with her, she’s happy to have him there when she gets the news that she is officially in remission. She’s so happy that she impulsively sort of proposes to Ben, saying that she wants to spend the rest of her life with him. But will they actually get married? Chicago Med does love to ruin relationships.
