Chicago Med celebrates 100th episode in unique One Chicago style

Chicago Med’s 100th episode is just around the corner, so check out how the Chicago Med cast and a few other One Chicago stars celebrated!

Wednesday will be a Chicago Med milestone, as the One Chicago medical drama reaches its 100th episode. Naturally, getting to that mark—and also meaning that the entire One Chicago franchise has reached it—was cause for celebration, and cast and producers recently put together a one of a kind event.

The entire current cast—Nick Gehlfuss (who portrays Dr. Will Halstead), Torrey DeVitto (Dr. Natalie Manning), Brian Tee (Dr. Ethan Choi), Yaya DaCosta (April Sexton), Oliver Platt (Dr. Daniel Charles), S. Epatha Merkerson (Sharon Goodwin) and Dominic Rains (Dr. Crockett Marcel)—was on hand, as was executive producer and franchise boss Dick Wolf.

Plus, if you look closely at the below photos in our gallery, you might see some folks from the other Chicago shows in attendance!

The real star of the night, though, was the cake that was specially created for the event. It’s an edible patient! The cake was made up to resemble an actual person you might find in the hospital, including an amusing heart tattoo that read “Chicago Med 100th.” Needless to say, the actors had fun clowning around with the cake, pretending to treat the patient before diving into dessert.

This event follows previous 100th episode celebrations for Chicago Fire and Chicago PD, which also had cast gatherings with interesting cakes. But a giant fire truck, as cool as it is, is not nearly as outrageous as making a faux human being! (And of course, appropriately, it appears to have a red velvet filling.)
