What’s happening in this week’s Chicago PD episode? Find out about Before the Fall with the Chicago PD season 7, episode 17 synopsis and teaser.

The next episode of Chicago PD puts Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) in the middle of not only a gang war, but his own personal dispute as he feuds with Homicide over the case.

From the looks of the synopsis and promo that NBC has released, Wednesday’s installment “Before the Fall” will test Voight’s personal and professional limits to see how far he’ll go to get justice (which as Chicago PD fans know, can be pretty far).

We haven’t seen an episode this season that puts the focus on the Intelligence Unit’s fearless leader, and it’s about time we got one for Voight, as no one protects the Windy City quite like he does.

The promotional trailer shows a bloody crime scene where a young adult was murdered. It’s a high- profile case, so the higher-ups want Voight and his team to “play nice” with the Homicide Division. This apparently will ignite “a feud between cops,” the promo’s voiceover suggests.

Interspersed throughout the trailer, One Chicago fans see various members of Intelligence doing surveillance, hunting down criminals, and maybe even going undercover. Almost everyone—Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Officers Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins), and Vanessa Rojas (Lisseth Chavez)—pops up in the promo.

You would think with how busy they apparently are with this investigation, that there wouldn’t even be time for toes to be stepped on. But this is Chicago PD, and it’s Hank Voight’s way or no way. In light of that, it’s understandable as to why he has to face off with another policeman who may be overstepping.

Voight even tells the offending officer to “get off my scene.” And when Voight tells you to do something, you’d best go ahead and do it. Safe to say the Homicide detective doesn’t back down so easily, which is sure to cause internal chaos while the external city comes to blows.

Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:

"Voight enlists the help of a reformed gang member to get a key witness’ testimony in a murder case; more lives are put on the line as a gang war brews."

And here’s the promo that’s been airing in advance of the episode:
