2. Will we ever learn more about Crockett?

Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) was introduced in the very first Chicago Med season 5 episode and now, almost 20 episodes later, we don’t know much more about him than we did then. That’s definitely something the writers have said they’re working on, but since Crockett is still tied up in the whole Chexton mess, and there are other storylines of higher priority, it wouldn’t seem likely that we’re going to get a full picture of Crockett by the end of this season.

We’ve figured out bits and pieces, but we haven’t gotten one episode that truly digs into who this guy is and what makes him tick. Contrast that with Chicago PD, which has devoted multiple hours to focusing on its new character Vanessa Rojas (Lisseth Chavez). Crockett is still very much an enigma, which also makes it hard to figure out how we should feel about him. Dominic Rains has certainly been doing an admirable job, but it’s harder to get invested in a character when we don’t know a lot about them.

The good news is that it’s a matter of when, not if this question gets answered. Chicago Med has given Crockett plenty of screen time, and executive producers Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider have already stated more information will be made available. It’s just that in looking at what’s left in Chicago Med season 5, there’s probably more important things to do than get acquainted with Crockett. Like hope that Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) doesn’t try to fight him again.
