Chicago PD season 7, episode 19 preview: Buried Secrets
Chicago PD delivers an Adam Ruzek-centric episode in “Buried Secrets.” Look ahead to this week’s episode with our Chicago PD season 7, episode 19 preview.
Fans of Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) will be thrilled to have an installment that focuses on him, but given what show we’re talking about, what happens could be terrible for Ruzek before it gets better.
“Buried Secrets” kicks off with him witnessing a kidnapping, and the rest of the episode follows as Intelligence investigates the crime. Given the title, it’s obvious that somebody’s secrets will be out before the credits roll.

Will they be Ruzek’s? The victim’s? Her family’s? Some combination of the above? It could be more than one.
There has to be more to the case than it looks like, because otherwise this would be a very short episode. But what fans will be interested in is whatever role Ruzek has to play in the investigation, and how it affects him personally.

He’s a witness, and he’s going to be working on the case, but why was he on the scene to begin with? Was it dumb luck? That’s possible. Could it also be that he knows the victim somehow? Also possible, since this is Chicago PD and almost every character has something that they keep close to the vest.
Plus, there’s going to be at least some blowback on Ruzek’s relationship with Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), since the synopsis for this episode says he pushes Burgess away. Why would he do that? It could just be that the case is hard on him, but that doesn’t seem likely. If anything, that should make him want to lean on her more.
It’s more feasible that there’s something going on that Ruzek doesn’t want Burgess involved with, and that would tie directly back into the case. We’ll have to see how far the writers want to pull Ruzek into the deep end, and if it’s something that is just for an episode or will have some kind of ongoing effect (especially since the season is about to end).
