NBC has released the official photos for Chicago Med season 5, episode 18, and two doctors who’ve worked together often this season are paired up again to handle a risky and complex procedure.

Wednesday’s installment “In the Name of Love” has Drs. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) facing off when a patient comes in who could require a controversial treatment. We can see how that would cause a problem in the Emergency Department.

This is the first episode where Natalie and Crockett have worked together since they were both kidnapped, and based on the photos, they definitely don’t look comfortable around one another. Is it just professional disagreements or is there still emotion left over from that predicament?

If you’re wondering about Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) and April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta), they are featured briefly in this week’s pictures, but they aren’t even mentioned in the synopsis, so it’s hard to guess where they will be in this episode after Choi finally found out about April kissing Crockett last week.

Someone that is prominently featured in the promotional photos is Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson), which suggests this could be a big episode for her. Goodwin doesn’t often get a major feature, nor major storylines for herself, as she’s usually a part of another character’s storyline or used to push a plot along.

It appears her sidebar involves her family as she’s seen with her son Michael (guest star Hampton Fluker) in one of the photos. She seems to be sitting down to dinner, or perhaps for a meeting. Whatever it is, it seems rather fancy and important.

If it is a family affair, that wouldn’t be completely shocking, as Sharon did reconnect with her ex-husband, Bert (Greg Alan Williams) earlier in the season. It would be nice for her to get a bit of a break from the chaotic ED and take some time for herself. Chicago Med doesn’t often cut its veteran members enough slack—and the show should!
