When does Chicago PD season 8 premiere on NBC?

Fans are eagerly awaiting new Chicago PD episodes, but when does Chicago PD season 8 premiere? When does Chicago PD return to NBC‘s primetime schedule for something other than reruns?

The seventh season ended on an ominous cliffhanger involving Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins). After Atwater came forward about the racial profiling he’d seen and experienced from another cop who had died in the line of duty, several of the man’s colleagues drove by Atwater’s home letting him know that they knew where he lived and that they were displeased by his actions. Atwater, in turn, challenged them right back.

However, because of the COVID-19 pandemic making it unsafe for TV shows to resume filming until later than usual this summer, the resolution to that story has likewise been pushed back a few months.

NBC has confirmed that the Chicago PD season 8 premiere date is Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT which is about seven weeks later than the usual late September start. The show does keep its same time slot from last season.

While fans won’t be happy at having to wait roughly two months to see what happens to Atwater and the rest of the Intelligence Unit, the break is unavoidable. The safety of the show’s cast and crew is paramount and with filming having to wait then it obviously takes longer to have enough episodes filmed and ready to air.

In the meanwhile a select number of repeats will air at least through September; you can see the schedule by clicking the banner below. Fans who want to watch episodes on demand can stream the most recent season through Peacock or Hulu (though both require paying a subscription fee). Older episodes can also be seen on select cable channels; check your local listings.
