Who’s out: So far, Chicago Med has not let anyone go from its main cast or its recurring cast this offseason—making it the only One Chicago program not to subtract anybody (yet). This might be because the show made some major overhauls last hiatus period, dropping three main cast members.

Rachel DiPillo departed the series in the season 4 premiere, while both Colin Donnell and Norma Kuhling were not asked back after season 4 (though they did return in season 5’s opener to give their characters an actual exit story). Dominic Rains filled the vacant spot created by Donnell’s exit.

Who’s in: Chicago Med became the last One Chicago series to add someone when this week it was revealed that Tehmina Sunny (currently appearing on the science fiction series Pandora for The CW) will have a recurring role during season 6. Her character is another doctor who asks Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) to lead her clinical trial.

We’ll have to see why that’s a recurring storyline for Will; is he going to finally advance his career beyond being a beleaguered ED doctor? Or, given the show’s emphasis on personal storylines, is Sunny’s character going to mix things up between Will and his girlfriend Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram)?
