Chicago Med season 6 character preview: Crockett Marcel
What will happen
Chicago Med took a pronounced turn toward more personal stories in season 5, and there’s no reason yet to think that will change in Chicago Med season 6. Expect that Crockett and Natalie will get together sooner rather than later—and then the question becomes, how much fallout is going to happen because of that new ship?
Things appear to be well and truly over between Natalie and her original love interest Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss), who not only has a new girlfriend but told Natalie last season that his life was much better without her. That’s not the kind of statement you can walk back. But the fans have seen Will and Natalie with other love interests before, only to get back together, so it’s also theoretically possible that Crockett ends up becoming a third (or is that fourth?) wheel again.
We do know that there will be a COVID-19 storyline in the sixth season, so Crockett will likely be front and center there. He played a significant part in last season’s “Infection” crossover and this is another massive emergency situation. That will likely force him and Choi to work together again, so expect some tension between the two given how Ethan had not one but two major meltdowns over the whole Crockett and April situation.
Hopefully it’s water under the bridge next season (as the focus will probably be on Chexton getting back together) but if it isn’t, will one of them finally get in trouble with the boss for their continued drama?
