Where we left off

If you’ve watched Chicago PD for any length of time, you know the majority of what Hank Voight gets up to in any given season. However, in season 7, he spent more time than ever before also trying to wrangle in the officers and detectives under his command.

The most recent season saw Voight tangle with businessman slash drug dealer Darius Walker (recurring guest star Michael Beach), whom he attempted to turn from suspect into an informant. However, after Walker killed another informant belonging to Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos), then the arrangement went downhill. Darius eventually ended up dead.

Voight also made a controversial agreement with new Police Superintendent Jason Crawford (recurring guest star Paul Adelstein) to blame an innocent man for murders he did not commit in the episode “False Positive.”

Meanwhile, Voight had a shouting match with Upton about not taking after him, and ultimately sent her to New York because of it—and also to facilitate Dick Wolf‘s crossover with FBI. He also had to deal with Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) contemplating speaking up about police racism, which Atwater eventually did at the end of the season.
