What will happen

Natalie will certainly hook up with Crockett during Chicago Med season 6, as showrunners Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider have been honest about that possibility since the tail end of season 5. Expect that it will happen sooner rather than later given how the show is placing more focus on its romantic relationships. That’s going to be the new shiny thing for the writers to play with.

Also expect that the show will go into how this affects Will, even though he’s in a new relationship with Dr. Hannah Asher (recurring guest star Jessy Schram). Is he going to be jealous? If he’s not, is Natalie going to be upset that he’s really not thinking about her anymore? But it’s hard to imagine that the Manstead well won’t be tapped for one last bit of drama—if those two are well and truly over. (You’re allowed to be skeptical considering the precedent.)

Beyond that, Natalie’s made a complete recovery from her injuries by now so the work part of her storylines should be business as usual. She’s the only pediatric doctor in the main cast so she’ll be on hand for anything that involves a child, and she’ll upset that child’s parents or another doctor in at least one episode. She’s always got at least one case that gets her into some kind of trouble. Is Will going to hold her accountable for that the way he did in season 5? Probably not, but it’d be nice if he did.
