Chicago Med season 6 character preview: April Sexton

What will happen

Expect that April will get back together with Choi, again. She’s still desperate to get him back, and Choi’s comments in the season 5 finale were about him ruining the relationship, so he clearly isn’t that furious at April. It seems like he blames himself, and then Crockett, a lot more than he blames her.

Chicago Med has emphasized Chexton for the last two seasons as its ship of choice, since Manstead went by the wayside. But it’ll be interesting to see if it still enjoys that level of attention in Chicago Med season 6. The producers seem really excited about Crockett getting together with Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto), so that relationship could get the bulk of the screen time as the writing staff explores their new pairing.

Regardless of how much of them we see, we’ll almost certainly see more of Chexton. And with April repairing her relationship with Choi, she might not have the screen time to do anything in a professional sense (unless it’s working on a case with him since the two also seem to get paired up a lot in that respect as well). It should be more of the same for April next season; we can just hope that she makes better choices.
