Who’s returning in Chicago PD season 8?
The Chicago PD season 8 cast includes Jason Beghe, Tracy Spiridakos, Jesse Lee Soffer, Marina Squerciati, LaRoyce Hawkins, and Patrick John Flueger.
Lisseth Chavez, who portrayed Vanessa Rojas, is not returning. Producers chose not to bring her back after just a single season in the role.

Who replaced Rojas on Chicago PD?
So far, the show’s producers have not announced who will replace Lisseth Chavez in the main cast. Showrunner and executive producer Rick Eid has mentioned new “characters,” plural, so it’s likely that Intelligence might go through a couple candidates to fill Rojas’ spot on the team before one is permanently promoted.
However, not a single actor or actress has been announced as playing a new officer yet, so it’s wide open as to who those characters will be played by. Maybe that’ll be a surprise to be revealed in the season premiere?
Other Chicago PD changes
The series is going to have a second storyline involving police reform in season 8. Nicole Ari Parker has been cast as a new Deputy Superintendent who will try to push Voight and company to adapt to reforms.
Dick Wolf confirmed recently that the show will also incorporate COVID-19 into its storylines this season.
Lastly, something to keep an eye on is that Chicago PD co-creator Matt Olmstead is supposed to be joining another Dick Wolf series this season. Olmstead left his role as showrunner of the Law & Order spinoff Organized Crime, but it’s also still a mystery where he’s landed. Maybe we’ll see him come back to the show he helped create?
