Chicago Fire season 9 premiere synopsis and promo: Rattle Second City
Chicago Fire season 9, episode 1 synopsis plus promo.
It’s almost time for the Chicago Fire season 9 premiere, so what should One Chicago viewers expect to see in the first episode of the new season? NBC has released some basic details that reveal what’s ahead this week.
Wednesday’s installment is entitled “Rattle Second City” and fans will be expecting something huge, considering that the show usually begins (and ends) all its seasons with major sequences of action and emotion. That seems to be the case with this episode which includes a “scary call” for Ambulance 61 and another big plot for Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo).
It sounds like this will be a paramedics-heavy hour, because the story also introduces Gianna Mackey, the new recruit played by Adriyan Rae (Vagrant Queen). Gianna takes the place of Emily Foster, after Annie Ilonzeh‘s character was last seen interviewing to get back into medical school. In reality, Ilonzeh was not brought back for season 9 after two seasons on the show.

Below is the official description that NBC has made available for the Chicago Fire season premiere:
"In the season 9 premiere, Firehouse 51 welcomes a new member to the team, whose presence could provide some complications. Brett’s leadership shines during a scary call. Boden sees great potential in Kidd and proposes an idea that could have lasting repercussions."
There’s been a major change when it comes to promos this season—as in there isn’t a Chicago Fire promo to share with viewers. In keeping with their decision to condense everything into one source, NBC has only dropped a single teaser for all three shows’ premieres, which you can see here.
That means you only get a few brief glimpses of what’s next for Firehouse 51, and this is more of a hype video than a promo. But the synopsis provides enough details for fans to guess at what will be ahead in the premiere!
