This week brings us the Chicago Med season 6 premiere, so here’s all of the information that NBC has released for Chicago Med season 6, episode 1.

The premiere episode is called “When Did We Begin To Change,” in keeping with the show’s habit of having titles where the number of words corresponds with the number of the season. It’s a big title, as a result, but this is going to be a big episode that focuses on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Executive producer Dick Wolf confirmed earlier that COVID-19 is going to be part of the show in season 6 and that’s the majority of what the episode description is about, so if you’re looking to avoid pandemic-related TV, you’ll possibly want to skip this one.

It sounds like it’s going to have April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) and Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) front and center, which makes sense as Choi’s specialty is in infectious diseases. But are they going to be able to work together without their personal drama getting in the way?

Speaking of personal drama, we also find out that Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt)’s subplot with his teenage daughter is continuing. That wasn’t very compelling when it was introduced last season, so we’ll have to see how it develops now and if there’s something that provides a greater hook.

"In the season six premiere, the entire staff at Chicago Med adjusts to the new normal of the pandemic. Dr. Choi, Dr. Lanik and April fight on the front lines. Dr. Halstead and Hannah face a troubling reality. Dr. Charles tries to clear the air with his daughter following recent developments"

For this season, the network has made a major change to the promo spots—rather than do ads for each individual show, they’re doing one teaser for the entire One Chicago franchise. So there’s not a promo for this specific episode but there is one for the return of all three shows, which you can check out below.
