Chicago Fire season 9, episode 2 synopsis and promo: That Kind of Heat
Chicago Fire season 9, episode 2 synopsis plus promo.
The next Chicago Fire episode will focus on Ambulance 61, according to the details and teaser that NBC has officially released for this week’s upcoming hour.
Wednesday’s installment is titled “That Kind of Heat,” and the primary character in the episode is going to be Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer). Brett features in the main professional storyline, while her personal life is again a featured subplot.
In this episode, Brett and her new partner Gianna Mackey (Adriyan Rae) are said to be in some life-threatening trouble, though if you watched last week’s premiere you already know what that is. (If you don’t, use the banner link at the bottom of this article to read our recap.) Will that storyline go on for another full episode or will it get resolved this week?
Elsewhere Brett’s relationship with Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) is once again a topic of conversation, which makes sense since Casey will not be happy with Brett’s life being in more danger. So if you’re a Sylvie fan, or one of the people who’ve been hoping for more of Brett and Casey together, this sounds like it’s definitely going to be a great week for you.

Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:
"Brett and Mackey find their lives in peril. Casey and Brett tread in unfamiliar territory. Severide chases a memory while Kidd adeptly solves a firehouse problem. Ritter puts himself in harm’s way during a harrowing call."
And here’s the promo spot that’s been circulating for this week. Once again, NBC has decided to do only one promo for all three of the One Chicago series, instead of individual teasers. So if you’re just looking for the Fire teaser and some hints about that cliffhanger, skip to the middle portion of the below video.
