More changes are coming to Chicago Med this week, according to the official information that NBC has released for Wednesday’s second episode of the season.
“Those Things Hidden in Plain Sight” is the lengthy title of the next episode, and includes the hospital getting a new chief of Emergency Medicine, which means that Dr. James Lanik (Nate Santana) is out of a job for one reason or another. The new boss will be the show’s third chief of the ED, after Dr. Stanley Stohl (Eddie Jemison) and Lanik. Beyond that, the synopsis refers to Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) having family issues, so it sounds like a continuation of his storyline from the season premiere. Audiences learned last week that his teenage daughter had moved in with him, and that their already frayed relationship was not doing much better during the pandemic. So what will their problem be this time—and how much time will season 6 spend on Charles’ parenting problems?
That aside, it’s always good when Oliver Platt gets more screen time, so at least One Chicago fans have that to look forward to.

"Goodwin announces a new ED Chief and the choice doesn’t make everyone happy. Dr. Manning takes a stand for her patient and finds herself dealing with the repercussions. Dr. Charles tends to family affairs."
