If there is one thing that One Chicago fans have gotten used to over the years, it’s knowing that at any time one of their favorite characters could leave unexpectedly.
Over the course of the last several seasons, we’ve seen many beloved characters from Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago PD leave town — sometimes on good terms which left the door open for their returns and others in more permanent farewells courtesy of the One Chicago grim reaper.
While cast departures are nothing new, we have to say we weren’t quite prepared for the major cast shakeups that would come in 2021 which resulted in the departures of several fan-favorite characters who have long played critical roles on their respective shows.

Adriyan Rae leaves Chicago Fire
From the moment we first met Mackey in the season 9 premiere of Chicago Fire, we had high hopes for 51’s newest paramedic and she quickly won us over. Unfortunately, Mackey left town before we could fully appreciate the character due to the departure of Adriyan Rae from the cast.
Thankfully, Mackey is still alive in the One Chicago universe, so the door remains open for a possible return down the line which is something we’re truly grateful for!
