Following an unexpected preemption to kick off the new year, Chicago Med finally returns to NBC’s schedule this Wednesday night with what promises to be another action-packed episode.
Entitled “Do You Know the Way Home,” episode 3 will see April (Yaya DaCosta) joining forces with Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) to treat a patient together in the ED. Given April has been spending a lot of time working in the COVID ward with patients suffering from the virus, it will be interesting to see if the mysterious patient is connected to that storyline or if April is perhaps getting a change of scenery in this week’s episode.
Elsewhere in the episode, Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) finds himself once again in an unwinnable situation when he’s forced to make what NBC teases as a “life or death” decision with the course of treatment of one patient from his trial.
Meanwhile, Dr. Marcel (Dominic Rains), gets an unexpected visitor from his past when a former acquaintance from his days before heading to Chicago is admitted to the ED. It should be interesting to see what demons from his past he’ll be forced to confront head one and just who he might choose to lean on for support in the process.

"Dr. Charles and April team up to take on a mysterious patient in the ED. Dr. Halstead is forced to make a life-or-death decision for one of his trial patients. Dr. Marcel is confronted by his past when a former acquaintance is brought into the ED."

In NBC’s latest One Chicago promotional spot, NBC provides us with a blink and you’ll miss it teaser in yet again blending snippets from Med, Fire, and PD in one collective promo.
During Med‘s portion of the promo, NBC puts a focus on April and Ethan (Brian Tee) intertwining a clip of Ethan discussing her being in the COVID ward for a month to which leads April to remind him of the important work she’s doing in helping people get through this.
