Chicago Fire season 9, episode 4 synopsis and teaser.

When Chicago Fire returns, it’ll once again put the newest Firehouse 51 member in the spotlight, according to the official materials released by NBC for this week’s episode.

The installment, entitled “Funny What Things Remind Us,” includes Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende) attempting to make a huge rescue. Fans will remember that Gallo was introduced last season by pulling off a dangerous rescue that caught the attention of Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer). Casey went on to recruit Gallo away from his firehouse and over to Firehouse 51.

Gallo’s courage has never been in question, but how many life-threatening things can he attempt before one of them catches up to him and he becomes the latest team member to end up in the hospital—or worse, possibly dead? While that likely won’t happen this week, it’s something that viewers have to wonder about if he keeps getting into situations that are risky even by firefighter standards.

In other news, things don’t sound great for Mouch (Christian Stolte) for the second episode in a row. After the last hour saw him blaming himself for an equipment malfunction, one of the side stories here involves him restarting a past rivalry. Hopefully that’s in a comedic sense and not in the sense of Mouch facing even more career trouble, but audiences will have to watch and find out.
